MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The #22 ranked Nova Southeastern softball team split today's doubleheader against the Barry Bucs. A late run in the seventh inning propelled the Sharks to a 6-5 game-one win. Barry responded in game two with a six-run fifth inning to secure the game two victory.

BOT 3rd – Barry struck first with a home run to right center.
TOP 4th – Gianna Russo batted in two runners to put the Sharks ahead 2-1. Brianna Matthews followed suit with an RBI single to left center, giving NSU a two-run lead.
BOT 4th – The Bucs tacked on three more runs to take a 4-3 advantage.
TOP 6th – RBIs from Lauren Margolis and Maliyah Lawson put NSU back on top 5-4.
BOT 6th – Barry answered with an RBI triple down the right-field line to tie the game at five apiece.
TOP 7th – Tori Copeland hit an RBI double down the left field line, batting in Russo and ultimately securing the 6-5 game-one victory.

TOP 1st – An error by the Bucs brought home Duskin for the first Shark run of the game. Shortly after, an RBI from Aubrey Hutzler extended NSU's lead to 2-0.
BOT 1st – Barry tacked on their first run of the game to bring their deficit to 2-1.
TOP 2nd – Duskin singled to the pitcher, bringing home Margolis to put another Shark run on the board.
TOP 3rd – Tori Copeland joined the action with an RBI of her own to put NSU ahead 4-1.
BOT 3rd – The Bucs cut their deficit to two runs after earning an RBI single
BOT 5th – Barry came alive in the fifth inning, scoring six runs to take a commanding 8-4 lead.
Nova Southeastern continued to fight but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback, dropping today's game two SSC matchup against Barry 8-4.

The Sharks will return to the NSU Softball Stadium for an SSC series against the Eckerd Tritons on February 21st. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
